In short

A business loan payment depends on the amount, the term in months and the APR. For example, $100,000 over 60 months at 12% APR costs about $2,224 a month and $33,467 in total interest. Enter your own numbers to see the payment and an amortization schedule.

How to use this calculator

Loan amount

The principal you receive. If the lender deducts an origination fee from proceeds, enter the gross amount and the fee separately.

Term

Months to repay. Online term loans run 6 to 24 months; bank loans 3 to 7 years; SBA loans up to 10 years for working capital and 25 for real estate.

APR

The annual percentage rate including fees. If the lender quotes a factor rate instead, use the factor rate calculator to convert it first.

Origination fee

A percentage taken from the loan at closing. It raises your effective APR because you repay money you never received.

Lenders quote monthly payments on everything from 6-month to 10-year terms; a lower payment on a longer term usually means much more total interest.
Run the calculation twice: once at the advertised rate and once at the top of the lender's range. Your approval may land anywhere between.
