In short

An SBA 7(a) loan of $350,000 over 10 years at 11.5% costs about $4,921 a month, with roughly $240,000 in total interest. Guarantee fees of 0% to 3.75% on the guaranteed portion can be financed into the loan. Enter your amount, term and rate to estimate your payment.

How to use this calculator

Amount

7(a) loans go up to $5 million. 504 loans finance up to 40% of a project through a CDC with a bank funding 50% and you contributing 10%.

Term

Up to 10 years for working capital and equipment, 25 years for real estate.

Rate

Variable 7(a) rates are capped at prime plus 3% to 6.5% depending on size. Enter the rate your lender quotes.

Guarantee fee

Charged on the guaranteed portion of the loan, typically financed. Enter it as a percentage of the total loan to approximate.

Ask whether your rate is fixed or variable. Most 7(a) loans adjust quarterly with prime.
A 10-year term on working capital is unusual outside the SBA. Use it; the lower payment protects cash flow.
